SELLING HEALING AND DELIVERANCE: A DOCTRINE OF DEMONS FROM HELL

by | Aug 3, 2026 | Deception among Christians, Mario Murillo Ministries | 54 comments

They are selling healing and deliverance. An angel of light has sent a doctrine of demons from hell.

It is a horrifying video. As a child writhes on the floor the preacher is telling the mother she must sow money to seal the child’s deliverance.

They sell healing and deliverance. They use slick terms to hide it. They will vehemently deny it. But it is a doctrine of demons from hell.

I doubt seriously that I have ever been this angry about anything in the charismatic movement before.

Preachers suggesting payments.

Preachers suggesting payment from innocent victims in exchange for healing and deliverance? If you are not outraged, you are part of the sickness.

Not only do they suggest payment before the healing and deliverance they also push for it afterwards to seal the deal.

How is this possible? It is possible because of the widespread focus on exotic experiences that has become part of our movement rather than focusing on the Bible. Don’t get me wrong. I love the Spirit-filled movement. And I am no traitor to it.

Why do I say I am no traitor? Because some will accuse me of siding with the cessationists who are raging against Pentecostal and Charismatics in a record number of videos.

Because we do not correct ourselves.

I am siding only with truth. And let’s be honest, many charismatic ministries have given plenty of ammunition to our critics.

Because we did not correct ourselves, we opened the door to widespread scandal and then discreditation.

But this is the lowest yet. And begs the question: how in the world can we tolerate such insanity when we are already under a theological microscope?

So let’s get to this doctrine of demons itself. Did you ever hear a preacher say, “you must sow to your miracle”? or, “you must sow to seal your healing or deliverance”?  The inference is unavoidable. It is ‘pay to play’.

This is something the Bible condemns in the highest manner. I will show you how in the end of this blog. For now let’s look at their tricks.

They twist verses to deceive.

In fact, they twist verses to deceive. When Elisha sold his oxen to follow Elijah they infer that he was sowing to Elijah. That is patently false. Then they cite the practice of giving a thank offering when people were healed of leprosy. That was clearly giving thanks to God. They were not buying a warranty on their healing.

Peter said it so clearly. “Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money! (Acts 8:20)

And another thing. I can’t believe I even have to say that miracles and deliverance are free! You see how far we have fallen?

These false apostles will never admit that they are doing this. But there is no doubt. If you mention money in the same breath as healing and deliverance, you are selling. And you are bringing severe judgment on yourself.

Here is the bottomline.

Here is the bottom line on this doctrine of demons. Naaman the Syrian general with leprosy comes to Elisha for healing. After healing, Naaman offers to sow into the healing with a gift to the prophet.

2 Kings 5:15, “And he returned to the man of God, he and all his aides, and came and stood before him; and he said, “Indeed, now I know that there is no God in all the earth, except in Israel; now therefore, please take a gift from your servant.”

16 But he said, “As the Lord lives, before whom I stand, I will receive nothing.” And he urged him to take it, but he refused.”

However, Gehazi Elisha’s servant invented what we now see in these corrupt modern preachers:   “But Gehazi, the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, “Look, my master has spared Naaman this Syrian, while not receiving from his hands what he brought; but as the Lord lives, I will run after him and take something from him.” So Gehazi pursued Naaman. When Naaman saw him running after him, he got down from the chariot to meet him, and said, “Is all well?”

And he said, “All is well. My master has sent me, saying, ‘Indeed, just now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the mountains of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of garments.’”

Gehazi was charging Naaman money for his healing. This brought the wrath of God.

So Naaman said, “Please, take two talents.” And he urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of garments, and handed them to two of his servants; and they carried them on ahead of him. When he came to the citadel, he took them from their hand, and stored them away in the house; then he let the men go, and they departed.”

Gehazi thought he had gotten away with it but the wrath of God was waiting. Now he went in and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, “Where did you go, Gehazi?”

And he said, “Your servant did not go anywhere.”

Then he said to him, “Did not my heart go with you when the man turned back from his chariot to meet you? Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants? Therefore the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and your descendants forever.” And he went out from his presence leprous, as white as snow” (2 Kings 5:20-27).

Meanwhile, Thank God healing and deliverance are abundantly available because Jesus paid it all!

Wow, infuriating. This is a great warning. Angels of light can be demons bringing demonic doctrine. Test the spirits & know whether they are from God (paraphrased). So important as we get closer & closer to the end times to have sharp discernment. Actually to have Perspicacity. That word puts it best. We’ve followed your ministry since 1973. Keep on doing the Word as you are! ♥️♥️♥️

I got healed of a dislocated jaw I had for 40 years while watching Mario live at one of his tent crusades. I was praying for all the others in the audience as they were being healed and then, not until the next morning did I realize my jaw was healed and I could eat again without horrible pain. God works even through the internet.

We were purchased at a great price. With no repayment required. I truly believe we are going to see men dropping dead at the pulpit for committing such blasphemy against the Lord and those seeking help from ministries.
Abominations come with a price and those in ministry are held at a higher accountability.
It is beyond disgusting to see someone seeking monetary gain for doing what we were commissioned to do. If it’s not for freedom for a child and the Glory of God, then this so called ministry will find themselves without excuse before our King.
Seeing a person set free after deliverance is rewarding in itself.
It’s all about Him and we’re just the conduit in between.
We will see God move, and whoa to those selling what Jesus bought with His blood.
Thank you, Mario! For standing up and exposing while others keep silent.
      Blessings,

Yes, because we don’t correct ourselves or accept correction from others. We need to embrace the proverb, a wise man loves correction. Yet too many get offended and angry or scoff back. I’ve been walking w the Lord for 3 years and I’m ever mindful of the sin of pride because that is what kept me from knowing him. Lord keep us humble so we don’t stumble.

My question is, are the deliverances that happen real or faked? If real and the demonic is being excised that’s good. We need more of it, but in the parameters of Gods Word and held accountable by the Church Body. I am glad the church is calling this out!

It is so true. I have been living with HIV aids for 45 years. I’ve seen it all Preacher’s doctors medical field. They’re all from the Pit. Of Hell. Keep up the good work Mario you’re always in my prayers. I always ask the Lord to let me go up in the rapture alive. I want to experience it not to be asleep, although they will have front row seats, but I wanna experience it live and you know what my prayers has been answered. We only have 2 1/2 years left. I believe no one knows a day or time only the father, but I am going up in a rapture very soon the world says I have AIDS, but Jesus says no I love him with all my heart and I thank him for bringing me out of Sodom and Gomorrah a long time ago.

How about a call center for the 700 Club prayer line asking if you are a member, and asking for your address & phone number before they pray on the phone for you. That’s also a means of obtaining payment.

Thank you for speaking the truth, Mario Murillo. It is abominable to sell what can never be sold. Forgiveness, healing, and deliverance have been paid in full by Jesus Christ on the cross. No payment can ever be made for it. Anyone who tries to sell salvation in any facet will hear what Simon the sorcerer heard: “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!” (Acts 8:20).

Thank you Mario for this teaching and insight. This has been bothering me for a long time. I’m a very generous giver, but when people like Richard Roberts asks for money after prayer for healing it really bothers me. When I see others do this for their personal gain makes me ill. The story of Gehazi was spot on and useful for teaching! Thank you for sharing this with us today.

As always, Charismatics and Pentecostals are their own worst enemy. It boils down to ego/pride mixed with greed and idolatry. And people in the pew rally around such until the offense is so atrocious that it can’t be ignore–and still they will make excuses and justifications.

Money has become too much of a big deal among leadership. They want to move the life and claim it’s from God but it’s really from everyday people who struggle. Why do they need 100000 cars, mansions and expensive steaks for dinner while the people who give to them can’t pay their bills on time. God will take care of his people regardless if they give to these ministers. I’m not saying we shouldn’t give but it’s gotten out of control and charismatic leadership is acting and living like Hollywood

Your are so right on Mario!!!! Thank you for your insightful warnings! There are not enough Christians, preachers, etc. who are warning Christians of the deceptive wolves in sheeps clothing that Jude, the half brother of Jesus, warned us about in his letter. Many years ago I was baptized in the Spirit and building up my spirit by speaking in tongues has enabled me to grow so much in my daily walk with God. What a wonderful gift. But now charlatans and phony preachers have stepped in teaching Christians damnable heresies and doctrines of demons claiming to be of the Spirit or from Jesus.

We have someone in our area who has become a big name in the area of Deliverance. He has a list of almost 200 things he delivers people of… for an “offering” of $70 an hour and gullible pentecostals, charismatics, Word of Faith people are flocking to him in droves from nearby states.

Then self styled “Apostle” Kathryn Krick has risen from obscurity 9 years ago to drawing crowds of five thousand people for the most deceptive and dangerous teachings. Even in our movements we have big name preachers who cause the name of God to be blasphemed among unbelievers because we do nothing to warn people of their cunning deceptions. “Holy Laughter” is coming back again with deceptions, teachings and kundalini type reactions that many think are manifestations of the Holy Spirit. And now people are chasing after feelings, power trips and manifestations they mistakenly believe are God or the Holy Spirit They are not. They are not of God. They are from an unholy spirit that the Bible warhs us of over and over! They are deceptions and there are not enough discerning Christians to tell the difference! How tragic! How have we gotten into this position? Why is not the Church dealing with these charlatans?

this has been going on for a while, especially in word of faith, we’ve seen preachers come out on tbn, where you have preached, practicing that type of fund reasoning methods…. I’m not completely off word of faith, because there is truth there but yes we need to search our hearts, search the scriptures and correct ourselves …. I believe in the supernatural, I believe in supernatural finances but yes there is a subtlety to the message of giving where we cannot buy our healing or financial provision, only the cross

Gracious! Short term memory: The whips in Jesus hands? Luke 12 around verse 40? We get a little drunk on our own plans. We forget that part (?) of the Pharisees big worry was cash in the temple and Jesus never seem to lack.
There is a lot of running around and evidence that more is known about sheep’s finances than tending the sheep.
Last night the dogs barked late. Many nights I’m kept from sleeping as the baptist neighbor has witnessed, “the withes run behind my house in the woods. I awake feeling the soul spirits watching, and mother’s hearing aid chirps from disconnect, unable to use the next day (yeah digital too). Alabama has an “no stalking law”, but not a police dept that can put an end to corruption or a church that destroys darkness. It is a money and cover my sin darkness, but never a finger lifted, a I John 1:9 relationship, a John 10:1 use the front door. No one has any idea how much danger they are in. When you die being cast into outer darkness is much different than an angel leading you through a portal heaven.
And church, you who stand before Jesus Christ where is the work of the evangelist. Guess I’m getting carried away, but we scorn of the last days and don’t take His Word seriously. In Christ, June
