God just did the impossible in Santa Barbara.
We had an overflow crowd. Many souls were saved. Jesus healed the sick. These words often describe our crusades. But today those words mean something totally different. Why? Because we are talking about Santa Barbara.
To use those words for a tent crusade in Santa Barbara simply means God did the impossible. The ungodly skeptics may try to explain away the results of some of our crusades but not this one. There is no denying God did this.
Consider this: Barna listed the top ten American cities abandoning Christianity. Santa Barbara made the list but Los Angeles, Seattle, and even San Francisco did not.
Why then did we come here? For three big reasons. Mario Murillo Ministries began in Santa Barbara. That’s right. Our first evangelistic crusade was in the Lobero Theater just 2 miles away from where the Tent sits.
Even so, planning and promoting this crusade was total war.
Also, you will remember God told us to go to the impossible cities.
And finally, God gave us an infallible sign. There is only one place that can host a tent crusade here: The Earl Warren Showgrounds. We only had 4 days left open this whole year. Those 4 days were the only days they had left. This could not be a coincidence.
Even so, planning and promoting this crusade was total war. We have never faced this kind of resistance. It felt as if I were in direct contact with hell. But we soldiered on. And here we are, the first night of the crusade.
I drove to the tent with a knot in my stomach and a lump in my throat. I had no idea what to expect. Questions raced through my mind. Would we have a crowd? How would they receive the worship with Catherine Mullins? Would they reject my message?
It was undeniable – God did the impossible.
Then I saw a sea of cars. I could hear the roar of worship rising to God. The crowd kept growing. The expectancy kept intensifying. It was undeniable – God did the impossible.
My message was entitled, If you knew the gift. The key verse was John 4:10, “Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the Gift of God, and Who it is Who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”
I began by saying that Jesus amazingly predicted what she would do if she could get past the issues of race, religion, and gender and see the gift—the real gift. She would ask and receive living water!
Santa Barbara’s beauty hides a tragedy of bad beliefs and ideas.
Many do not know why they have rejected Jesus, and even those that claim to know would be shocked at their reaction to the actual gift. This is especially true here.
Then I told them that Santa Barbara’s beauty hides a tragedy of bad beliefs and ideas. She is like the woman in Proverbs 11:22. It says, “A beautiful woman who lacks discretion is like a gold ring in a pig’s snout.”
After that I directed them to Luke 14, verses 16 through 21, “Then (Jesus) said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ But they all with one accord, began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’
What made him angry is what they thought was better and more important than this feast.
“And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’
It must have been a great feast if Jesus said so! What made him angry is what they thought was better and more important than this feast. To know Jesus is a greater feast than you know!
Ironically, what made them skip the feast are three things that are big here. Real estate: “I bought a piece of ground.” Relationships: “I married a wife.” Entrepreneurship: “I have bought five yoke of oxen.”
Nature is mad at you for not recognizing the creator and because we are a fallen race.
Then I told the environmentalists something: “And did you know that nature does not even like you?” Romans 8:20, “For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.”
Nature is mad at you for not recognizing the creator and because we are a fallen race.
Romans 1:20, “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse…”
And verse 25 adds, “…who exchanged the truth of God for the lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.”
The elephant in the room in Santa Barbara is the emptiness and hardness of heart that hides behind the beauty and abundance. Then the message became something else.
I waited for the conviction to intensify. What happened next will haunt me for the rest of my life.
It was now one of the most direct attacks I have ever spoken against occult, new age and mystical religions. I thought for sure it would cause a backlash. Instead, it culminated in a forceful appeal for souls.

They had never seen such a harvest anything close to this here. It stunned the crowd. All ages, races and backgrounds stood together at the front to be saved.
They filled the front and all the aisles. But it was after they prayed and were marching out of the tent that the magnitude of what had happened became clear.
After the new converts were back in, the miracles began. And did they begin! Before that night was over scores of people saw their sicknesses healed.
The most amazing part is that tomorrow night is the miracle service. Tonight was focused on souls. If that is the case then what will tomorrow night be like?
Yes, the tent crowd overflowed. The salvations were beyond what we expected. And the miracles were abundant. Only God could do this in Santa Barbara.

Praise God for this mighty report of salvations and miracles. I had hoped to be there to volunteer but God directed me elsewhere. I so wanted to be a part of this historical crusade. Glory be to God for your report of the Sunday night service!
Many of us Joshua and Caleb generation now remnant believers who would at one time stated we were born Catholic, accepted Jesus command to be Born Again!
My own family accepted Jesus at an altar call at Cornerstone Church in the late 80s. given by Mario Murillo.
There We operated in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, sent out pastor shepherds to start new works, the Holy Spirit imparting anointings for what was needed, raising up brothers teaching brothers like Jesus stated, and learning to hear from the Holy Spirit like Jesus also said.
And then the physical and spiritual Attacks of the enemy came. As with all persecution the Gospel was spread and many of us were sent to be a blessing and minister in new ways and in other churches. When encountering brothers and sisters who became cold or worse Lukewarm , it was often because of offense, or not continuing to pray in the Holy Ghost or pray at all.
Thank you Mario Murillo Ministries for returning to Santa Barbara after almost a generation, to reignite the Fire of God here, to teach on the importance of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and The Lords desire for us to share the Gospel every opportunity to win Souls!

Both my hands were busy praying for my friend and supporting his body and I didn’t raise my hand . After reading today’s post, Holy Spirit has prompted me to ask that you pray for my father, Rich Stahl at tonight’s miracle event. He was diagnosed with stage ;4 pancreatic cancer 4/25/25. Brother Mario please pray for healing of skin cancer on my leg and possibly one on my scalp. I recently got the leg biopsy results. Surgery is next week for it. I’m nervous, but I am trusting the Lord, I know he is my healer.

Note- in 1 the year 1999 , 1200 families were cut out of their parishes . We were given a Pastor. He rented the gym from the junior high for 5 years until we could raise the money to build a church. We the new congregation set up on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoon took everything down. The new congregation formed a close community before the walls were even built. .The same thing could
happen in Santa Monica with your newly baptized people.

Awesome Mario. Was there a call given for those needing baptized in the HG? Some people answering altar calls are already saved but need baptized in the HG. And of course there are many getting saved but the baptism in the HG is not mentioned many times especially after people get saved.

Wow..what timing and can’t help seeing the flooding in Texas in this message and other catastrophic incidents in the world. I know the time on earth is drawing to a close. This really shows how so many are hungry for the Word of God and respond. Our youth group here has grown to 45 kids this last year! This shows people are hungry, lost, miserable and need, oh how they need Jesus and respond so quickly. Praise God for the movement in Santa Barbara and in our town with these lost, lonely, searching for something else people. Jesus is so good to do this. All glory to the One who wants to save our souls for Him. Such a beautiful thing happening.

Anyway, I was one of the people who came forward last night. I have to say that I was “renewing my vows” with Jesus, as I have been baptized within the last five years or so. BUT … I’ve always been “shy” or, dare I say, embarrassed? To go forward and be counted among the people bold enough to say YES, I WANT JESUS TO BE MY LORD & SAVIOR. This time, I decided I was not going to be shy, not gonna be self-conscious, I was going to STAND FOR MY JESUS! To repeat your words affirming my Faith in Jesus was so very special. Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to do that. I’d attended your “pre-runner” event at Veronica Springs and had raised my hand at the end of the evening, when you were doing the altar call, but decided I’d pass the trip to the front, and instead I slipped out and went home (dare I say with my tail between my legs?). I blamed the fact that I had an hour’s drive ahead of me going home, and it was getting late. Excuses, excuses….so THIS TIME I wasn’t going to “sneak out the back” or stay in my chair. And it was almost BETTER than getting baptized. ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

The new age people, teachings, gatherings and events always felt “off”. Something wasn’t right. But since we were all searching, trying to find love and acceptance, I tried to adjust. But it was the same kind of warped adjustment we try to make for a Narcissist. Adjustment can never work.
Jesus accepts us where we are. He is walking beside us and we can take his hand – Right Now!
I made fun of “Born-againers”. Had I known being Born Again would mean I could come Home, I would have accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour long before Mario’s Tent Revival in Santa Barbara!

What a thrill it was to see that Mario Murillo, with his ministry team, was coming to Santa Barbara! You have such an anointed ministry and I have followed you off and on for years. When I saw your blog, I had to make sure my daughter and granddaughter would be there…..they were and loved every minute of it!
My 10 year old granddaughter loves Jesus and worship songs. She is so precious but has had a hard time the last five years with seizures and trials. When I saw a text of her beaming smile, as the worship music began, the tears started flowing! She was baptized a month ago here in Santa Barbara county but still raised her hand to go down to the front last night and again for prayer! A wonderful man prayed for her and my daughter.

Praise the King of kings!! I weep because I planned for 3 months to be there as a volunteer but could not go at the last minute; however, I rejoice because Holy Spirit is there and moving in a mighty way.
